Megalopolis | 2023

A road trip through California inspired this body of work, which reflects on my experience as a tourist travelling through the built environment. As a landscape architect, I often notice patterns and forms in the landscape, and am particularly drawn to how man-made features contribute to a sense of place.

Through collage, I respond to a perceived structure, scale and groundedness. I enjoy how this contrasts with the texture and ambiguity of paint, blurred edges, vibrant colours and graphic marks.
